About LoveHandlers.org
In January 2007 we launched an idea for “differently-abled” animals after seeing the need for a caring environment to house and let these special animals have a second chance at a healthy fulfilling life. By Spring 2007 work had begun on the 60 acre canvas in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains located south of Greeneville, Tennessee and 45 miles north of Asheville, North Carolina.

One year later, with 720 tons of stone for roadways, two 500 foot wells, septics, power poles, electricity, a 1700 square foot animal residence barn to host 60+ friends, a grooming barn and health center, cleared pastures and fences run we opened in the fall of 2008.

With a nod to old western towns, Dogwood Stagecoach was soon joined with Blackie’s Smith & Groom Shoppe, Sheriff “Founder the Hounder” Jailhouse, and the Canine Corral. Coming soon will be the Barkery Hotel & Saloon, Dogwood General Store, the CatHouse and future plans for other facilities to house and care for animals.
